MCKNIGHT, Leslie L. – of Burton, age 88, passed away Monday, November 17, 2008 at Genesys Convalescent Center, Gr. Blanc. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 E. Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. James Rupert officiating. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Tuesday and 1-8 PM Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scouts of America-Tall Pines Council or Emmanuel Methodist Church.
Les was born in Flint on February 4, 1920, son of the late Lloyd and Martha (Hoyt) McKnight. He resided in the Flint area all of his life. Les proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII in the Philippines. His citations included 2 Bronze Stars and a Silver Star. Les was a member of Emmanuel Methodist Church. He was a Scout Master from 1948-1996 with Troop 121 in Kearsley Community Schools. Les served on the Executive Board for the Boy Scouts. He was employed by C&O Railroad for 44 years, retiring in 1981.
Les is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty; children, Kathleen McKnight, Leslie “Duff” (Joan) McKnight, Dan McKnight and Arthur (Sue) McKnight; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Warner McKnight; brothers, Roland McKnight and Wellington Stevens, and, Sister, Geraldine Wilkenson. Les’ family expresses thanks to the staff of Genesys Convalescent Center for their care and kindness.

Lester L. Keeler
November 16, 2008
KEELER, Lester L. – of Davison and Flushing, age 84, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Fostrian Manor in Flushing. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, November 20, 2008 with military honors at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Cremation to follow service. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 E. Davison Rd., Davison. There will be visitation one hour prior to service on Thursday at the church. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 PM Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Outreach East.
Lester was born in Dowagiac, MI on March 20, 1924 son of the late Earl and Hazel (Everhart) Keeler. He married Betty Brigham in 1949 and she preceded him in death in 1962. Lester married Paula Preston in 1964 and she preceded him in death in 2000. He was a member of the Davison VFW Post 4087, St. Johns, Friends of the Carousel Crossroads Village and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Lester worked for General Telephone for 37 ˝ years before retiring on March 20, 1986.
Lester is survived by his children; Scott (Stephanie) Keeler, Kimberly S. (Chris) Hall, John (Denise) Keeler; 6 grandchildren, Julie, Jeffrey, Michelle, Sarah, Hannah and Joshua; sisters, Yvonne (Eugene) Greenman, Beverly (Howard) Curtis and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings; Zilpha, Earl Jr., Wilbur, Donald and Doris.

LAMP, Sue Katherine – of Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Davison, MI, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2008 at her residence, surrounded by her family. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Richfield Road United Brethren Church, G-6259 Richfield Rd., Flint; Pastor Jim Pryor officiating. Burial will follow in Davison Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 AM-8 PM Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 E. Davison Rd., Davison. A Memorial Service will be conducted 7 PM Wednesday by the Eastern Star, Davison Chapter 299, at the funeral home. On Thursday, there will be visitation at the church from 9-11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Sue was born in Chester, WV on May 12, 1939, daughter of the late George and Mildred (Rhodes) Lynch. Sue married Franklin D. Lamp on April 11, 1955. She was a past member of the Davison Business Women. Sue was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. She was involved for many years with her daughters in Job’s Daughters. Sue was a Girl Scout Leader and Motocross Mom. She enjoyed stock car racing, classic cars, swimming, reading and spending time with her family and friends. Sue, and her husband Frank, owned and operated State Building Company in Davison for more than 40 years.
Sue is survived by her husband, Frank; children, Debbi (Mike) Stephenson, Diana (Dave) Cunningham and Scott (Michelle) Lamp; grandchildren, Randy Winters, Shawn Shores, Christopher Shores, Jennifer Al-Saidi, Brandon Winters, Frank Lamp II, Shelby Lee, Megan Lamp, Sadie Lamp, Katie Lamp, Scott Lamp II, Bassam Al-Saidi and Josh Cunningham; great-grandchildren, Randall Winters, Makayla Winters, Landon Lee-Culhane and Lynzee Lee-Culhane; numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and extended family; special friends, Dianne Larkin and Colette Burt. She was preceded in death by her son, Frank Lamp Jr. and brother, Gary Lynch.

ROSS, Mary Lucille (Cole) - of Columbiaville, MI went home to heaven on Friday, November 14, 2008. Visitation will be Sunday, November 16, from 1-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 E. Davison Rd., Davison. A Funeral Service will be held Monday at 11 AM at Richfield Church of the Nazarene, 7524 E. Mt. Morris Rd., Columbiaville Rev. Larry Betz and Rev. Gene Smith co-officiating. Burial will follow at Oregon Township Cemetery.
Mary was born to William E. Cole and Ada (Sischo) Cole on May 11, 1927. She married Dale W. Ross on May 20, 1950. She was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ada Cole; sisters Marjorie Brewer and Barbara Dowling. She is survived by her husband, Dale; sisters, Sallie Bade, Kathy Lee; daughters, Merilee (Gary) Williams of Columbiaville, Marcia (Larry) Freeland of Fort Wayne, IN, Melody (Dennis) Patrick of Vinton, VA, Michele (Steve) MacGill of Naperville, IL; son, David (Ronda) Ross of Columbiaville, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. James Callison

CALLISON, James – of Burton, age 69, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 13, 2008. Friends and family will gather at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, 6-8 PM Saturday and 1-7 PM Sunday. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Monday at the funeral home, Pastor Roger Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Benevolent Fund at Flint First Wesleyan Church.
Jim was born April 8, 1939, in Flint, to Rex and Eva (McQuillan) Callison. He retired from AC Spark Plug Division with 32 years of service. Jim was a member of Flint First Wesleyan Church and loved to sing in the choir. He was a great family man who enjoyed spending time with his wife and grandchildren. Jim also liked to travel.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diana; sons, Dan (Joni) Clemons and David Clemons; daughters, Jodi Daniels and Robyn Calligaro; grandchildren, Andrew, Kara, Jimmy, Stephanie, Cody, Mary Elizabeth, Easton and Kaden; special nieces, Ashley and Jaclyn and many other loving family and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Frank Smith and sister, Nancy Sweers.

Ruby was born in Walker, Arkansas on July 10, 1928, daughter of the late Callie and Minnie (Hill) Ritchson. She married John Robert Ward on June 5, 1943 and he preceded her in death on January 21, 1990. Ruby enjoyed playing Bingo, Euchre and listening to Gospel Music.
Ruby is survived by children, John (Connie) Ward, Dean (Joanne) Ward and Lynn (Jim) Elliott; grandchildren, Kelley (Jeff) Wright, John Ward, Sirena Urbin and Kerie Krug; many great-grandchildren; brothers, Vernon Ritchson and Ed Hill. She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Gerald was born in Flint on November 20, 1951, the son of John and Betty (Alexander) Hewitt. He proudly served his country with the US Army during the Vietnam Era. Gerald enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his parents; daughters, Kelly (Xavier) Costa Rosa and Chelsea (Rodney) Hewitt; grandchildren, Alyza and Aidan; brother, Glenn (Barbara); sisters, Barbara Deggendorf and Cheryl Herfurth; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

RITENBURGH, Arnold D. - of Gladstone, MI, formerly of Clio, age 78, passed away Friday, November 7, 2008 at Genesys Hospice Care Center, Goodrich. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 E. Davison Rd., Davison. Pastor Gerald Hodgeson will officiate. Arnold was born in Grand Blanc, MI on July 8, 1930, son of the late Floyd and Alvena (Krage) Ritenburgh. He married Donna Jean Brown on January 21, 1956 in Morristown, MI. He proudly served his country with the US Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. Arnold was a member of Clio VFW Post # 1452. Arnold was a member of UAW Local 659. He was a Tool & Die Machinist for Chevrolet, retiring with 33 years of service. Arnold enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and hiking.
Arnold is survived by his wife, Donna Jean; children, Eva (Joe) Pyles, Kay (Jon) Conroy, Patty (Bob) Vanaman; grandchildren, Zachariah (Amy), Miranda, Jason (Kelly), Jared (Melissa), Jamie, Amanda, Ashley; great-granddaughter, Sidney; brothers, Vernon (Ilene), Ritenburgh, Richard Ritenburgh; sister, Norma (Glenn) Cotton; sister-in-law, Margaret Ritenburgh; several nieces and nephews; dear friend, Judy and many friends in Yuma, AZ. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Ritenburgh.
