MATTHEWS, Eleanor (Crnkovich) – of Flint, age 87, passed away August 19, 2012 at Durand Senior Care. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. A Rosary will be prayed 7 PM Wednesday. Burial will be in Engadine Cemetery, Engadine, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Avalon Hospice or the Center for Gerontology.

Eleanor was born in Engadine, MI on December 24, 1924, daughter of the late Raymond and Lenore (Cousineau) Butler. She married George Crnkovich and he preceded her in death in 1977. Eleanor married John Matthews. She was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church and past member of the Engadine VFW. Eleanor worked at the Downtown Flint US Post Office.

Eleanor is survived by her husband, John; children, Sandra (Robert) Mulligan, George (Annette) Crnkovich, Steven (Shelley) Crnkovich, Nancy (Gary) Card; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by granddaughter, Tawnya; great-grandson, Stephen and two brothers.
