POWERS, Wilma A. – of Burton, age 74, passed away August 10, 2012 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. David Miller officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be 1-8 PM Monday and 12-1 PM Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lapeer F.O.E. #2427.
Wilma was born in Petoskey, MI on January 22, 1938, daughter of the late John and Clara (Watson) Wagenschutz. She married Robert Squires. Wilma then married Norman K. Powers and he preceded her in death. She was an active member of the Lapeer F.O.E. #2427, serving as an officer. Wilma enjoyed bowling and going to rummage sales. She was a Nurses Aide at Briarwood, retiring after 30 years.
Wilma is survived by her children, Linda Roy (Fred Covey), Tim (Marianne) Squires, Lisa (David) Heinrich, John Powers; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Hilda Grossman, John Wagenschutz Jr., twin brother Wilbur Wagenschutz, Barbara McKaye, Dorothy Honeysette, Edwin Wagenschutz, Patricia Steffel, Fred Wagenschutz, James, John, William and Richard Stradling; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold, Max and Richard Wagenschutz; sisters, Letty Johnson, Joann Steelman and Elizabeth Rocek. Also survived by her family at the Eagles and many other special friends. A special thank you to Grace Hospice, Tina, Staci and Darby.
