Beverly Ann Bontumasi

BONTUMASI, Beverly Ann – of Davison, age 69, passed away July 28, 2012 at Genesys Health Park. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2012 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison; Rev. Fr. Carl Simon officiating. Burial will be in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. A Rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. On Thursday, there will be visitation at the church for one hour prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Autism Society or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Beverly was born in Flint, MI on August 20, 1942, daughter of the late John Joseph Jr. and Norma P. (DeVoss) Hackney. She attended St. Michael Catholic School and was active with the St. Michael Catholic School Class Reunion Committee. Beverly Hackney married Vincent Bontumasi on March 25, 1961 in Flint. Vincent preceded her in death on March 30, 2010. Beverly was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Davison. She worked for the Davison Community Schools as a playground monitor and was fondly dubbed “Mrs. B” by her students. Beverly also worked at McDonald’s for several years. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going to casinos and shopping! Beverly loved taking care of children. She was “Mom” to many people and was affectionately referred to as “Queenie” by her children, family and friends.

Beverly is survived by her children, Anthony F. (Kimberly) Bontumasi, Suzanne M. Bontumasi, Vincent J. (Frankie) Bontumasi, Alan D. (Terry) Bontumasi, Kimberly M. Cox and Ricco A. (Ashley) Humphries; grandchildren, Rosie, Alex, Anthony, Cristina, Angelina, Gabrielle, Blaine, Kennedy and Brady; siblings, Robert J. (Carol A.) Hackney, Barbara A. Carnes, George E. (Sue) Hackney, John J. (Dale) Hackney III. and Kathleen S. Mitchell; best friend, Katherine Beach. She was preceded in death by special family member, Matthew Humphries.
