DICKENS, Carlton - of Thomaston, GA, formerly of Davison, age 74, passed away June 22, 2012 at Upson Regional Hospital. Private services were held. Burial was in Davison Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County.

Carlton was born in Flint on December 18, 1937, son of the late Roger and Dorothy (Williams) Dickens. He married the mother of his three children, Joyce Leach, in June 1956. He later married Sandra (Clouse) Alden. Carlton was a plasterer. He worked on several commercial projects during his career. Gardening was his chief hobby. His great skill in this hobby gave many others pleasure. Carlton was an avid bird watcher. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing.

Carlton is survived by his wife, Sandra; children, Martin (Lois) Dickens and Michelle Dickens; ten grandchildren and siblings, Roger Lee (Susan) Dickens and Ron (Jill) Dickens. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael K. Dickens and brother, Robert Dickens.
