Douglas P. Yard

YARD, Douglas P. – of Davison, age 57, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012, at his residence. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, June 25, 2012, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5199 Richfield Rd., Flint, Rev. Fr. Francis Faraci celebrant. Cremation will follow the service. The family will receive visitors on Sunday from 11-3 & 5-8 PM at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Monday at the church. Memorial contributions may be considered to the American Diabetes Association.

Douglas was born in Flint, MI on May 23, 1955, son of Milton and Dolores (Mangiaracina) Yard. He married Tamara Anderson on February 24, 1979, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Douglas retired from Delphi Flint East in 2007. After his retirement from Delphi, he worked at Severn-Trent and HES in Milford and Bay City. Douglas enjoyed golf, video games and spending weekends at their cottage in Gladwin. His greatest loves were his family and friends.

Douglas is survived by wife, Tamara; children, Kacie (Joel) Hammon and Shelby (Matt Dudley) Yard; mother, Dolores Yard; brothers, Michael (Janey) Yard and Matthew (Loretta) Yard; sister, Janet (Robert) Lucas; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, Abby. He was preceded in death by his father, Milton Yard. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the doctors and staff at the Singh & Arora Oncology/Hematology.
