Mary A. Micinski

MICINSKI, Mary A. – of Flint, age 90, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012 at home. A Memorial Mass will be prayed 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 706 Beach St., Flint; Fr. Fred Taggart, O.S.A. and Fr. Ronald Scheibel, O.S.A. co-celebrants. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Cremation will follow visitation. On Thursday visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan or Camp Brave Heart through Genesys Hospice.

Mary was born in Clawson, MI on September 1, 1921, daughter of the late Christopher and Mary Elizabeth McCarthy. She graduated in 1939 from St. Mary’s in Royal Oak. While attending the University of Detroit, she met a dental student named Alfred Micinski, and they married in 1946. Mary was very gracious and always doing for others. She was a volunteer at Hurley Hospital and the Genesee County jail. Mary attended St. Matthew’s Catholic Church for over 40 years, where she was a soloist. She was also a member of the Flint Tennis Club, being one of its oldest and longest members. Mary played until she was 85 years of age. She also belonged to Choral Ayers. Mary played bridge at many senior centers where she also line danced during the winter months.

Mary is survived by daughter, Patti LaDuke, granddaughters, Sondra Bowman, Megan (Michael) Luebke and Sarah LaDuke; 7 great-grandchildren; many nieces; nephews; and friends. She was preceded in death by daughter, Linda in 1981; brother, Joseph McCarthy and sister, Margaret Kane. The family would like to thank Genesys Hospice.
